Square Enix Needs a Phoenix Down!
I remember when you couldn't wait for the next final fantasy game to come out PC Video Games of how great they were. So the big question is what made square games so great? I was a late WII Video Games in the whole square ordeal so one of my first games I had completely played through was ff9. Which to me was the best final fantasy, I know everyone loves 7 but thats my personal opinion. So as we are Sega Game Gear Accesories personal opinions, I feel as though square has lost the magic when its come to their final fantasy series. Square has become a company who focuses heavily on visuals. They maintain things in cut scenes that can't even be done in game. The thing that caught me most on ff9 and ff7 were the magical spells and summons. These commands in battle used to be an all out spectacle that you couldn't wait to see and discover. Now everyone has this generic background render that changes slightly with the next spell.
I'm not saying this is why square sucks not at all, this is just what GameCube Accesories miss most. The reason why I think square sucks is because they let their gameplay take a backseat to their gorgeous cut scenes. I was shown a new video recently of some square fighting game on the psp. Which features a bunch of characters from the final fantasy series. A good idea, people like square lets get the characters together. Wrong, the best thing i saw in the whole demo was some scene with the guy from ff10 dodging fireballs. This is exactly what square is doing wrong to Sony Playstation 2 Game Controllers The game doesn't look appetizing the cut scenes do.
If you wanna make movies be my guest, they seem better at that than anything else. Final fantasy: Advent Children was better than any square game I played recently. Maybe they need new designers maybe they need the old guy back but they need something.
