2008 Missile Defense Technology Trends

The United States has signed deals with several nations now to set up missile defense systems to counter balance Russian advancements or Iranian missiles (Chinese WII Video Games Russian Technology). Russia is balking at further cooperation with NATO and the Russians attack on the Nation State of Georgia has increased tensions. The Sony Playstation Strategy Guides is on the hunt once again.

Iran has tested some more ICBM mid-range missiles and WII Video Games on their first attempt to launch a satellite into orbit, but so has every other nation who has ever attempted that on their first go around. Iran is making headway in other advanced weapon technologies and already has 1250 mile range missiles, so these are real threats. Additionally it has warned the world it is not afraid to use them if attacked.

Meanwhile, Iran has made unfortunate statements to its own people that it will blow Israel off the map. Worse, it is How to Build a Wood Fence uranium to make nuclear weapons and apparently has plutonium from China, or so some intelligence folks claim. Either way this is a problematic situation for the World and European nations that are within its missile range.

THEL ground systems and high energy airborne laser systems are now available and could indeed stop incoming missiles for the first time, and thus, it appears that Ronald Reagan's Star Wars system was not only possible, but was merely ahead of its time by several decades.

Even with these technologies and a missile defense shield something needs to be done with Iran and her insistence on making nuclear weapons and warheads to put atop of its Chinese made long-range missiles. 2008 has been a year of question marks, concerns and failed diplomatic efforts. Some ask is the world a safe place in the present period?
